Ibadan Book Club Congratulates Awele Ilusanmi on Conferment of ANA Fellowship

IBADAN BOOK CLUB CONGRATULATES AWELE ILUSANMI ON CONFERMENT OF ANA FELLOWSHIP



The members and executives of the Ibadan Book Club have congratulated Mrs. Awele Ilusanmi on the conferment of the prestigious Association of Nigerian Authors (ANA) Fellowship in recognition of her outstanding contributions to the Nigerian literary community.


In a press statement issued by the club’s founder, Mr. Wole Adedoyin, on Wednesday in Ibadan, the club commended Mrs. Ilusanmi for her unwavering dedication to the promotion of reading culture, literary development, and the empowerment of writers across Nigeria and beyond. 


Mr. Adedoyin described her as a “visionary literary leader whose work continues to uplift and inspire countless authors and readers.”


According to the statement, Mrs. Ilusanmi has played a pivotal role in supporting emerging and established writers through her various literary initiatives. She has sponsored numerous book readings, writing workshops, and literary festivals across the country. Through her generosity, many authors have been able to publish their works and gain visibility in Nigeria’s growing literary ecosystem.


Ibadan Book Club, one of the beneficiaries of her literary philanthropy, acknowledged that Mrs. Ilusanmi has been a strong pillar of support to the organization. In recent months, she has provided consistent financial backing for the club’s monthly book readings, helping to sustain its mission of promoting literacy and literary engagement among residents of Ibadan and neighboring communities.


Beyond her contributions to Ibadan Book Club, Mrs. Ilusanmi has distinguished herself as a literary trailblazer. She is a multiple award-winning author and recipient of several honors, including the African Writers Tribe Transformational Leader Award, recognizing her as a beacon of inspiration in Africa’s creative industry. Her works and leadership continue to transform the landscape of book publishing and marketing in Nigeria.


A passionate literacy advocate, Mrs. Ilusanmi has shared her expertise at several high-profile literary gatherings. She was a speaker and panelist at the 2019 Connect Nigeria Writers’ Conference, where she spoke on Successful Book Marketing, and at the 2023 Lagos Books and Art Festival (LABAF), where she discussed Winning with Book Publishing and Marketing. Her insights have guided numerous authors in understanding the business side of writing.


She is the President of the Literary Authors Cooperative Multipurpose Society of Nigeria and the Founder of Book Marketing Class Africa (BMACA). Additionally, she serves as a Literary Agent with Publishizer, an award-winning literary crowdfunding company based in New York, USA. Through these platforms, she has empowered authors to navigate the challenges of publishing and connect with global opportunities.


Mrs. Ilusanmi is also the author of several influential books, including Book Marketing Strategies That Work, Comforting Arms, Launch Money, Crowdfund Your Book, and Profitable Pages. Her publications provide practical guidance for authors seeking to master book promotion and publishing success. 


A graduate of Publishing Studies from Stephen F. Austin State University, Texas, USA, she embodies excellence and professionalism in literary entrepreneurship.


Her recent engagements include serving as keynote speaker at the Booksellers Association of Nigeria Conference in October 2024, where she spoke on Creative, Innovative, and Aggressive Marketing Approaches for Selling More Books, and as a panelist at the Writers Interactive Network Literary Festival 3 (ARTSLIVELAGOS) in November 2024, discussing Book PR for the 21st Century.
