OSOGBO READ AND GET PAID/PUBLISHING WEBINAR HOLDS TOMORROW

 


The much-awaited Osogbo Read and Get Paid/Publishing Webinar holds tomorrow, 25th day of February, 2022.

 

 

A statement issued by both the Coordinator and Secretary of the club, Godwin Grace and Ahmed Aisha said the event would take place via Whatsapp by 8:00PM.

 

 

The webinar will be hosting Folarin Olaniyi, CEO of Emotion Press, a Publishing/PR firm. He will be lecturing the participants on the techniques of Reading and Getting paid and the fundamentals of publishing.

 

According to the Club, Osogbo Read and Get Paid/Publishing Webinar plans to create an avenue where readers can make money and also to make books available at the lowest cost possible to every home in Africa, while consequentially promoting the almost running comatose reading culture through its innovative technology backed print-on-demand service.

 

Interested participants will be given automatic membership into Osogbo Book Club, E-Certificate of Participation and free digital books on creative writing and publishing.

Osogbo Book Club is an initiative of the Society of Young Nigerian Writers (SYNW). It was founded in 2011 by SYNW in order to contribute its own quota to the growth and development of the Reading Culture in Osun State.

 

Osogbo Book Club consists of a group of people who meet periodically to discuss the book they have read and exchange those books. Club members encourage each other and learn to read with a critical mind, articulating their opinions about a particular book with others. Certain types of books not available or read receive attention through the book club.

World Theatre Day To Dazzle The World

 

WORLD THEATRE DAY TO DAZZLE THE WORLD

It is going to be a marriage of literary and artistic activities that will give birth to fun, excitement and unforgettable moments. Stars will parade and shine in the broad light of day as the Ado-Awaye Tourism Heritage Development Initiative (ATHDI) and the Oyo State Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN), will hold the 2022 World Theatre Day (WTD) celebration With great pomp and ceremony.

 

Holding from March 25 to 27, 2022, the celebration will take place at the foot and on top of Ado Mountain, a wonderful mountain harbouring tourist attractions such as Elephant Tree, Ladebo Cave, Ishage Boulder, Iya Alaro Lake as well as Iyake Lake that are the two known suspended lakes in the world. 

 

Amongst others, activities slated for the 2022 World Theatre Day celebration include traditional and modern musical shows, dance performances, poetic renditions, historical narratives, drama presentations, personality awards and a special schools’ drama contest that will attract plaques and monetary awards for winners. 

 

According to the organizing committee made up of respected men and women of the society, the 2022 World Theatre Day celebration in Ado-Awaye, will be attended by various theatre artistes, government functionaries, traditional rulers, culture activists, arts director, arts administrators, tourists, promoters of tourism and arts lovers. 

 

Interestingly, the celebration is being uniquely planned to create a platform for socio-cultural interactions amongst participants and guests, a platform for the discovery, exposition and promotion of literary and artistic talents, and also serve as a unity forum. 

 

Since the year 2022 is tagged the 60th Anniversary of World Theatre Day, the Ado-Awaye Tourism Heritage Development Initiative and the Oyo State TAMPAN are prepared to dazzle the world with a talk-of-the-town celebration.  This celebration which enjoys the royal blessing of the Alado of Ado-Awaye, HRM Oba Ademola Olugbile Folakanmi, no doubt, will record the biggest crowd of performing artistes in Nigeria.

 

With utmost respect, all theatre artistes, arts lovers, friends and well-wishers are specially invited to witness and partake in this World Theatre Day celebration without any inhibition.
