How SYNW Members Benefited From The Ebedi International Writers Residency

HOW SYNW MEMBERS BENEFITED FROM THE EBEDI INTERNATIONAL WRITERS RESIDENCY

The Ebedi International Writers Residency has provided significant benefits to many members of the Society of Young Nigerian Writers (SYNW). This residency program was founded by the Secretary General of the Pan African Writers Association (PAWA), Dr. Wale Okediran to provide a platform for writers to hone their skills, network with other writers, and gain exposure to new cultures and perspectives. Some of the beneficiaries who are card carrying members of the Society of Young Nigerian Writers are: Rukayat Olaleye, Ayobami Odunyemi, Izunna Okafor, Temitope Shadiat Jimoh, Misturah Shittu and Kehinde Gbadeyanka.

One of the main benefits of the Ebedi International Writers Residency is the opportunity it provides for writers to focus solely on their craft without distractions. This residency program provides a peaceful and conducive environment for writers to work on their projects, free from the distractions of everyday life. This has been particularly helpful for members of SYNW who have used the residency to finish their writing projects or make significant progress on them.

In addition to providing a peaceful environment for writing, the Ebedi International Writers Residency has also provided members of SYNW with the opportunity to connect with other writers from different parts of the world. This has enabled them to exchange ideas, learn from other writers, and form valuable relationships. The residency program has also exposed them to different cultures and perspectives, which has enriched their writing.

Another significant benefit of the Ebedi International Writers Residency is the opportunity it provides for members of SYNW to interact with established writers and literary figures. This has given them access to valuable guidance, mentorship, and feedback on their writing. Members of SYNW have also had the opportunity to participate in literary events and workshops organized by the residency program, which has helped them to improve their craft and expand their knowledge of the literary world.

The Ebedi International Writers Residency has also helped members of SYNW to gain recognition and exposure for their writing. By participating in the residency program, they have been able to showcase their work to a wider audience and gain valuable feedback from readers and other writers. This has helped to boost their confidence as writers and has encouraged them to continue pursuing their craft.

Another important benefit of the Ebedi International Writers Residency is the support it provides for members of SYNW to publish their work. Many members of the society have used their time at the residency to complete manuscripts and have gone on to publish their work with reputable publishers. The residency program has also provided them with opportunities to participate in literary festivals and book fairs, which has helped them to market their work and connect with readers.

Finally, the Ebedi International Writers Residency has helped members of SYNW to build a community of writers and literary enthusiasts. Through their participation in the residency program, members of SYNW have been able to form valuable connections with other writers, literary agents, and publishers. This has created a supportive and collaborative environment that has helped them to grow as writers and to achieve their goals.
