HOPE FOR LIFE INITIATIVE PARTNERS WITH NIIA TO MARK WORLD BOOK DAY IN LAGOS

 

The Hope for Life Initiative has announced its partnership with the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs (NIIA) to commemorate World Book Day 2024. This collaboration stressed their shared commitment to promoting literacy and the love for reading. The event, themed "Read Your Way," will take place on the 30th of April, 2024, at the Nigeria Institute of International Affairs, with activities commencing at 10:00 am and the main event starting at 12:00 noon.

 

In a statement issued by the CEO of Hope for Life Initiative, Kendi Aig-Imoru, she expressed her enthusiasm for this partnership and emphasized the importance of fostering a culture of reading, particularly in today's fast-paced world. "Books have the power to inspire, educate, and transform lives. By celebrating World Book Day together with the NIIA, we aim to ignite a passion for reading and knowledge acquisition among individuals of all ages," said Aig-Imoru.

 

The World Book Day event will feature an engaging panel discussion comprising distinguished personalities in the literary and academic spheres. Among the esteemed panelists are Dr. Olatunbosun Taofeek, a creative writer and principal researcher at Grecian Books; Mallam Denja Abdulahi, former President of the Association of Nigerian Authors (ANA); Sir Folu Agoi, President of Nigerian Centre for PEN International; and Adesuwa O. Erediauwa, a senior research fellow specializing in International Economic Relations at the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs.

Adesuwa O. Erediauwa is a senior research fellow in the International Economic Relations Division of the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs, Lagos, Nigeria. Her focus is on economic interaction among sovereign nations. She has a PhD in Economics.

Throughout her impressive career cutting across both public and private sectors, she has served in esteemed positions including the Policy Analysis Department of the Federal Ministry of Industry and the Nigeria Institute of Social and Economic Research (NISER).

 

Dr. Ishola’s dedication to rigorous academic research is evident in her six publications featured in reputable journals. Her membership in the Association of Public Administration Researchers (ASPAR) and the Midwest Political Science Association (MPSA) Chicago further underscores her scholarly expertise in exploring the intersection between domestic violence and faith-based practices in Nigeria.

 

Adding immense value to the launching program are prominent figures who embodied leadership, advocacy, and faith.

Bishop Francis Wale Oke, President of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), and Revd. Emmanuel Olasupo Ajao, Associate General Overseer of the New Covenant Church and Alhaji Dahud Mokanjuola Akinola (D-Damak), a well revered Aare Musulumi of Yorubaland,Edo and Delta,and Aare of Ibadanland, will serve as Launcher and Father of the Day and Co-Launchers, offering their spiritual insightful perspectives and guidance on the subject matter.
