How SYNW and ANA Worked Together In The Past

HOW SYNW AND ANA WORKED TOGETHER IN THE PAST

The Society of Young Nigerian Writers (SYNW) and the Association of Nigerian Authors (ANA) have had a long history of collaboration and mutual support. The presidencies of both Prof. Remi and Mallam Denja Abdulahi were of immense support to the growth and development of SYNW.

Before the emergence of Prof. Remi Raji as the 10th president of ANA, he sponsored the Remi Raji @ 50 National Poetry Competition.

SYNW also played a prominent role in the emergence of Prof. Remi Raji as the 10th President of ANA. The SYNW had reprinted the agenda and manifesto of the former ANA President before the election. The reprinted manifestos were given to ANA members on the convention ground a day before the election and on the day of the election. Prof. Remi Raji also sponsored two members of SYNW who were also financial members of ANA to the convention.

During the first tenure of the presidency of Prof. Remi Raji, the President of SYNW was nominated by Prof. Remi Raji himself as the National Secretary of the National Teen Authorship Scheme which his presidency initiated with support funds from the former governor of Niger State, Dr. Babangida Aliyu. Through that project, ANA's first Teen Anthology was birthed. The President of SYNW was a member of the editorial team of the anthology and several teen authors from the Society got their works published.

Mallam Denja Abdulahi's ANA Presidency also rendered similar support to SYNW. During his first term in office, he reappointed the President of SYNW as the National Secretary of his newly reorganized "Young Writers Mentorship Scheme." Mallam Denja Abdulahi also assisted in the planning and execution of the Read Across Nigeria project of the Society as some chapters during his presidency also participated in the reading.

Mallam Denja Abdulahi was also instrumental in the emergence of Wole Adedoyin, the President of SYNW as the National Publicity Secretary of ANA. During the second tenure of Mallam Denja Abdulahi's presidency, Wole Adedoyin was also appointed as the secretary of the Intellectual Property Protection and Advancement Committee of ANA.

Apart from these appointments, Mallam Denja Abdulahi also assisted lots of members of SYNW in terms of ANA membership and other issues relating to ANA and their writing careers. SYNW, on the other hand, also supported ANA by actively participating in ANA's programs and events.

The collaboration between SYNW and ANA has yielded positive results, and both organizations continue to work together to promote and develop the Nigerian literary scene. SYNW has continued to support ANA, and ANA has also shown support for SYNW by recognizing and appointing members of SYNW into various positions within the organization.

The partnership between SYNW and ANA has not only benefited the two organizations but also the Nigerian literary community as a whole. It has provided opportunities for young writers to develop their skills and showcase their talents. It has also helped to promote Nigerian literature both locally and internationally.
