NIBF 2023: NBFT HOLDS INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE TODAY

The 22nd Nigeria International Book Fair (NIBF) is set to commence today, Wednesday, May 10, with an international conference and opening ceremony at the Yard 158 Event Arena in Ikeja, Lagos.
Distinguished personalities from the educational sector are expected to grace the opening ceremony, including Professor Ismail Junaidu, the Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Educational Research and Development Council, Dr. John Asein, Director General of the Nigerian Copyright Commission (NCC), and Professor Olasupo Jegede, former Dean of the Faculty of Education at the University of Lagos.
Notable stakeholders in the education industry, such as Dr. Hamid Bobboyi, the Executive Secretary of the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC), and Mallam Adamu Adamu, the Honourable Minister of Education, will also be present as special guests of honor at the conference.
The esteemed personalities hosting the event include Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, the Executive Governor of Lagos State, Professor Chinwe Veronica Anunobi, the National Librarian/CEO of the National Library of Nigeria, and Mrs. Folashade Adefisayo, the Honourable Commissioner for Education in Lagos State.
According to Michael Oluwatuyi, Chairman of the Nigerian Book Fair Trust (NBFT), the international conference aims to provide attendees with a platform to interact with leaders in the book industry, explore new markets, build networks, and gain insights into innovative strategies to promote their products and services.
Oluwatuyi further revealed that visitors from various countries, including Canada, the United Kingdom, the United Arab Emirates, India, South Africa, Kenya, Cameroon, Ghana, and other African nations, are expected to attend the conference.
The NIBF serves as a significant event for the book industry, showcasing the latest publications, educational resources, and technological advancements in the field. It fosters collaboration, knowledge sharing, and business opportunities for publishers, authors, educators, and other stakeholders.
