IBADAN BOOK CLUB CONGRATULATES OYIN-ADEJOBI OMOTOLANI SADIA ON HER EMERGENCE AS GOVERNING COUNCIL REPRESENTATIVE, THE POLYTECHNIC, IBADAN.
Ibadan Book Club (IBC) has congratulated Oyin-Adejobi Omotolani Sadia, a publisher and author on her emergence as Governing Council Representative, The Polytechnic, Ibadan.
According to a statement released by Ibadan Book Club Coordinator, Mrs. Ayobami Odunyemi in Ibadan yesterday commended and described the emergence of Oyin-Adejobi Omotolani Sadia as a well-deserved and befitting one and a round peg in a round hole.
While expressing optimism that the former Treasurer of the Oyo State Chapter of the Association of Nigerian Authors (ANA) will do the Polytechnic and indeed the state proud. Ibadan Book Club also assured that Oyin-Adejobi Omotolani Sadia’s creative writing experience would accord her all the needed support to succeed bringing to bear her diverse and rich professional exposure and competencies in discharging her duties as Governing Council Representative, The Polytechnic, Ibadan.
Ibadan Book Club (IBC) finally expressed confidence in Oyin-Adejobi Omotolani Sadia’s ability to carry out the assignment well and also lauded the entire academic staff of the Polytechnic, Ibadan for making a good choice.
Oyin-Adejobi Omotolani Sadia is a Nigerian academic, publisher and author. She is one of the founders of the Polytechnic of Ibadan Writers Forum; a forum created to hone and enhance the writing skills of up and coming writers within the Polytechnic of Ibadan community. The Forum, years back featured Rotimi Babatunde, winner of the 2012 Caine Prize for African writing with his book titled Bombay Republic as one of her guest writers.
Oyin-Adejobi Omotolani Sadia holds degrees in English and Mass Communication from the University of Ilorin, Ilorin, Kwara State. She is currently an academic staff of the Polytechnic, Ibadan and the Governing Council Representative, The Polytechnic, Ibadan.
As a talented and prolific author, Oyin-Adejobi Omotolani Sadia has written and published many literary books. She had been invited by different literary associations to give talks on issues bordering around publishing, creative writing and language development.
Also, apart from being an avid reader, Oyin-Adejobi Omotolani Sadia is an advocate of the reading culture.
Omotolani’s quest for scholarship is quite inspiring, as a number of her academic papers have been published in national and international journals. She had also taught in Kwara State University as an Adjunct Lecturer.
Oyin-Adejobi Omotolani Sadia is a member of different professional bodies such as the Association of Nigerian Authors (ANA), Women in Technical Education (WITE), Linguistic Association of Nigeria (LAN), Reading Association of Nigeria (RAN), Nigeria English Studies Association (NESA) to mention but few.
Apart from being a committed and active member of the Association of Nigerian Authors, Oyin-Adejobi Omotolani Sadia had also served as Treasurer of the Oyo State Chapter of the Association.
