ISBN, ISSN, Copyright, Intellectual Property to Headline Ibadan Book Club August Public Lecture

ISBN, ISSN, COPYRIGHT, INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY TO HEADLINE IBADAN BOOK CLUB   AUGUST PUBLIC LECTURE


 

Ibadan Book Club (IBC) has set aside Saturday, 28th day of August, 2021 to host the current Head of Branch of the National Library of Nigeria (NLN), Oyo State branch, Mrs. Temitope Titilola Akinbola and Idiongo Udofia, a legal practitioner of five years post call experience, who over this period has practiced in areas of finance, intellectual property, real estates, civil, criminal and corporate practice.

A statement by Odunyemi Ayobami, the Coordinator of the club, said the event would take place at the Oyo State Library Board, Opposite Cocoa House, Dugbe, Ibadan by 12PM prompt.

Mrs. Temitope Titilola Akinbola, is currently the Head of Branch, National Library of Nigeria, Oyo State Branch. 

She is a native of Badagry in Lagos state. She attended Iponri Estate High, Surulere, Lagos.  Obtained her first and second degrees in Library and Information Science from the University of Ibadan.

Titilola Akinbola is a member and Assistant Secretary of the Nigerian Library Association (NLA), and Association of Women Librarian (AWLIN).

She joined the National Library of Nigeria in 1987. Worked at National library, Lagos state branch between 1987 to 2003 and National Bibliographic Control Department, Lagos.

Mrs Temitope Titilola Akinbola will be talking on NLN’s Readers' Awareness Programme, Electronic catalogue service, Document delivery service, Bibliographic service, Reference service. ISBN, ISSN and ISMN

Idiongo Udofia is a legal practitioner of five years post call experience, who over this period has practiced in areas of finance, real estates, civil, criminal and corporate practice.

He was trained in Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Nigeria before proceeding to the Nigerian Law School, Yenagoa to qualify to practice law in Nigeria.

He is enthusiastic about books and is fascinated with the idea of writing them as well; he is an ardent seeker of knowledge and is also well read in both classic and contemporary works.

He is currently an Associate at Olujinmi  & Akeredolu Legal, Ibadan and is also the founding and Principal Partner of a Pan African focused law office, which is his brain child-H-Afrique Legal.

Idiongo Ufodia will be talking on Intellectual Property, Book Piracy and Copyright.

The upcoming book reading event promises to be an avenue for reading creative works such as poetry, fiction, book sales and signing, contacts with other readers and book writers in all corners of the state of Oyo, the statement added.

Prospective writers who have works in poetry, short stories and novels can also attend to read their works to other writers and readers. Membership forms and certificate of membership will be available at no charge to first timers.

Ibadan Book Club is an initiative of the Nigerian Young Writers Society. It was founded in 2011 by SYNW in order to contribute its own quota to the growth and development of the Reading Culture in the State of Oyo.

The Ibadan Book Club consists of a group of people who meet periodically to discuss the book they have read and exchange those books. Club members encourage each other and learn to read with a critical mind, articulating their opinions about a particular book with others. Certain types of books not available or read receive attention through the book club.

Some of the publications published by Ibadan Book Club are: Olubadan Centennial Anthology: a collection of essays, articles, poems and works of art in honor of Oba (Dr.) Samuel Odulana, Odugade 1, Voices from Oja Oba Market and Finally, Senator Abiola Ajimobi: Memories, Dreams, Reflections of a Mind Always in Motion.
