SYNW CONGRATULATES EGYPTIAN WRITER, ASHRAF ABOUL-YAZID AT 60
The Society of Young Nigerian Writers (SYNW) has extended its heartfelt congratulations to Egyptian writer, Ashraf Aboul-Yazid, on the occasion of his 60th birthday.
Ashraf Aboul-Yazid is a prolific and multi-award-winning writer, poet, novelist, and journalist. He has published over 50 books in Arabic and English, and his works have been translated into several languages. Aboul-Yazid has also contributed immensely to the promotion of African literature, culture, and arts.
According to the President of SYNW, Mr. Wole Adedoyin, "Ashraf Aboul-Yazid's contribution to world literature is immeasurable. He has given a voice to the voiceless, and his works have inspired and touched the hearts of millions of readers around the world. We are proud to celebrate his achievements and legacy on this special occasion of his 60th birthday."
Aboul-Yazid's literary journey began in his early childhood, where he developed a love for reading and writing. He started writing poetry at the age of 13 and published his first book of poems, "The Whisper of the Stars," at the age of 16. Since then, Aboul-Yazid has continued to write, publishing books in different genres, including novels, short stories, and essays.
Over the years, Aboul-Yazid's works have won several prestigious awards, including the Naguib Mahfouz Medal for Literature in 2014 and the Sharjah Award for Arab Creativity in 2018. He has also served as a jury member for many international literary awards, including the Neustadt International Prize for Literature.
Aboul-Yazid's works have been translated into several languages, including English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, and Chinese. He has also participated in numerous international literary festivals and conferences, where he has shared his expertise and insights on literature and culture.
In addition to his writing, Aboul-Yazid has contributed to the development of African literature, culture, and arts. He has organized several literary events, workshops, and conferences in Africa and the Middle East, and he has worked tirelessly to promote African writers and their works.
