By: Wole Adedoyin
The Nigerian Book Fair Trust (NBFT) has recently announced the upcoming Nigerian International Book Fair (NIBF) in 2023, which will be held in Ikeja, Lagos. As the date of the event approaches, the NBFT has called on volunteers to assist with various aspects of the book fair.
The Nigerian International Book Fair is an annual event that attracts thousands of visitors from across Nigeria and beyond. It is an opportunity for authors, publishers, booksellers, and other stakeholders in the book industry to showcase their works, network, and engage with the public. This year's event promises to be bigger and better than ever, with a diverse range of activities and programs scheduled.
To ensure the success of the NIBF, the NBFT has called for volunteers to assist with various tasks, including event coordination, ushering and other important functions. Volunteers are an essential part of any large-scale event, and the NIBF is no exception. By volunteering, individuals have the opportunity to gain valuable experience, contribute to the community, and meet new people.
Volunteers for the NIBF can expect to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. They will be required to work collaboratively with other volunteers, event organizers, and exhibitors to ensure that everything runs smoothly. As such, volunteers should be willing to work under pressure, be flexible, and possess strong communication and organizational skills.
Volunteering for the NIBF is not only an opportunity to contribute to the book industry but also a chance to give back to the community. By volunteering, individuals can play a crucial role in promoting literacy, education, and cultural exchange. They will also have the opportunity to engage with a diverse range of people and learn about different cultures, perspectives, and ideas.
The NBFT is looking for volunteers who are passionate about books, culture, and education. Whether you are a student, a professional, or a retiree, there are opportunities for everyone to get involved. Volunteers can expect to work flexible hours, depending on their availability and the needs of the event.
Volunteering for the NIBF is also an excellent way to gain valuable skills and experience that can help in future endeavors. By volunteering, individuals can develop leadership skills, learn how to work in a team, and enhance their communication and organizational skills. These skills can be valuable in any career, whether in the book industry or beyond.
The NBFT will provide training and support to all volunteers to ensure that they are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to carry out their tasks effectively.
Volunteering for the NIBF is a rewarding and fulfilling experience. It provides an opportunity to meet new people, learn new skills, and contribute to the community. By volunteering, individuals can help make a difference in promoting literacy, education, and cultural exchange in Nigeria and beyond.
